Here is a short exercise to illustrate our approach to training. All you have to do is use this exercise to see how its helps your approach to training too.
The idea is to determine where the most energy needs to be applied to make learning effective. We use the word energy to illustrate effort, determination and commitment, not an amount of time.
Here’s the exercise: Look at the Matrix below
Think of 3 periods of time in training – Before During and After. The time is on the horizontal axis
There are usually 3 Roles involved in training – Participant, Trainer and Participants Boss. The Roles are on the vertical axis.
What to do: Rank each box on the matrix between 1 and 9, in order of where the most energy needs to be applied.
So if you think it’s the Trainer Before the training, that would be 1. If you then think it’s the Participant Before the training that would be 2, and so on.
You cannot allocate the same number to more than one box.
